Satchmo at the Cotton Club

Well, It's hard for me to admit, but I think I have over 30 paintings that are either sitting half finished or made mistakes on that I keep telling myself I will finish, well, I'm making a promise to myself, by putting them on my blog in order to help me FINISH them. So for this week I will show you this one, in hopes it will be a catalyst to get it DONE!! I started this about 4 months ago, and just never finished it.. It is the famous wonderful Jazz artist, Louie Armstrong. I need to finish some face work, shading on his white shirt and kerchief, and then the doors of the club. So here is my attempt to PUSH me forward.. Any comments or suggestions on title appreciated..

I hope that posting it here gives you the incentive to complete it. You're off to a great start. I'll be looking to see it finished. Don't keep us waiting to long.

Dear Lori, thank you for your kind comments... I have not had many sparks of
creativity since May as I am still grieving over my mother's death in Feb. It
has left me pretty depressed and out of energy. I just updated my blog, haven't been on it in a long while and
had to get rid of my SiteKreator website as I ran out of space, so now I have to
get motivated to put something on my mac since that is one of the purchases I
allowed myself (a new laptop) this summer. Thank you, you made my day and you
are sooo famous!!! How did you find me? I love your watercolors... that was my
first love... my daughter and I used to paint together (she was 5 and I was 29
and we lived in NY).... now she's 22 and I'm 46 and onto other things like
acrylics and oil pastel, waxes... so many options out there. I see you're a
full time mom too... how do you manage it all? I just can't seem to get moving
these days. My dad is also ill and lives in NY ... I'm in FLA and it's hard to
just keep in contact vi
a phone or computer. He has diabetes and heart disease and is on disability and
Medicare... at 65! I really have so much on my heart and mind, it's hard to get
in the groove and feel happy when others don't have it so good. I feel guilty! Any tips?? And thanks again for the nice note! It
helped a lot today.... I just am amazed that you found me on the same day I
decided to check out my blog which I haven't done in ages! :) Have a great day,
The best,
Rose Herczeg

PS... couldn't find an email addy or I would have emailed you. Mine is lifeinhim61@comcast.net. Thanks for being so nice!

Hi Lori, thankyou for commenting on one of my blogs. I wanted to ask an artist, did you have much time to spend on art making when you your children were babies? I just want to know how much free time I can expect to have to do some art...

You website looks great! There is a small error on the contact page. I just thought I'd let you know because I would like to know of any errors on my page.

Lori,
I love your art work. I hope that I can bother you enough times to get you to finish your paintings. My hubby is famous for not finishing his art. :)
